2024 Student Essay and Slogan Contest launches statewide

FRANKFORT, Ky. – A statewide contest provides students the opportunity to win prizes.
Secretary of State Michael Adams announced the 2024 Student Essay and Slogan Contest on Tuesday.
The student essay contest is for 9-12 graders. The contest asks “What can Kentuckians do to ensure that voters are well informed on policies and candidates?” Essays will be limited to 1,000 words.
The slogan contest is for middle schoolers and will ask students to create a slogan campaign that voters to become more informed on political candidates and policies.
The winning students will be honored with a public ceremony and prizes.
“Encouraging civic interest at a young age is crucial to having civically engaged adults,” said Adams. “I hope these contests will help our students become informed and engaged in our political process,” said Secretary Adams.
Submissions will be accepted electronically or by mail by Friday, January 31 at 4 pm (CDT).
