2020 Household Hazardous Waste Day canceled
WARREN CO., Ky.- Fall 2020 Household Hazardous Waste Day is canceled for the second time this year.
The event has been canceled because of the concerns about COVID-19.
Normally, people would be able to get rid of old paints, chemicals and other items that are typically collected by the Warren County Public Works Department. The items need to be safely disposed of so they don’t harm people or the environment.
Stanley Reagan, coordinator for the Division for Environmental Planning and Assistance said this day is very important and how people can still safely dispose of those items by themselves.
“I just want to remind people that there are different resources on the internet they can look into and always check the back of a package to see what you can do to dispose of it safely. There are things called MSDS sheets that are on the internet that tell you about materials if you really want to get technical about it,” said Reagan.
Reagan said they are hopeful that they can hold the event this spring, depending on how the pandemic continues.
