2 women dead after multi-vehicle crash in Floyd County

MARTIN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision that took place on Tuesday in Floyd County.
According to authorities, the crash happened around 8:27 a.m. on kentucky Route 80 in the Martin community.
Troopers say a preliminary investigation revealed Kimberly Akers was driving an SUV eastbound on Kentucky Route 80 when her vehicle crossed the median and struck another SUV being driven by Andrea Conn.
According to authorities, the impact caused Conn’s vehicle to hit a Ford van being driven by Caleb Sizemore.
Akers and Conn were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.
The collision remains under investigation.
