$2 million loan granted to aid in construction of Barren County hospice facility

GLASGOW, Ky.- The T.J. Community Mission Foundation has announced that it has received a $2 million USDA Rural Economic Development Loan through Farmers RECC to aid in the construction of the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.

According to a news release, in 2015, the board of directors of the Foundation identified a critical need in Barren County for a residential hospice home for patients facing end-of-life-care.

The loan funds will be repaid over time though donations to the Foundation and normal operations at the Hospice Home.

The facility will be located on Glenview Drive in Glasgow and will include eight inpatient rooms, kitchen and living spaces and private areas for families and guests.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for this year, with an opening date in 2020.
