EDMONTON, Ky.  – Metcalfe County High School has announced two students have been selected for the 2025 Rogers Scholars Program.

According to the district, HarperAnn Hurt and Madelyn-Grace Wright will attend weeklong programs at Kentucky colleges this summer that will focus on developing skills in leadership, technology, entrepreneurship and community service.

MCHS principal Joseph Eaton said, “We are so proud of Harper and Madelyn for their dedication to their educational pursuits and individual development. These students represent the best of Metcalfe County High School every day and will do the same at the Rogers Scholars Program.”

Rogers Scholars is a flagship youth program for the Center for Rural Development. The district says this provides opportunities to help rising high school juniors gain the knowledge they need to become the region’s next generation of business and entrepreneurial leaders.

Students will participate in team-building exercises, receive hands-on instructional training from professional experts in engineering, health care and civic engagement and interact with nationally recognized business leaders and entrepreneurs.

More than 1,300 high school students in Southern and Eastern Kentucky have graduated from Rogers Scholars since its inception in 1998.
