WATTS, Ky. – Two people are dead following a three-vehicle collision in Breathitt County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers were notified around 11:13 a.m. Wednesday of the crash on Kentucky 15 in the Watts community of Breathitt County.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation found a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Brandon Combs of Lost Creek was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Deanna Noble of Lost Creek.

Troopers say after the initial impact, Noble’s vehicle was pushed into the path of a northbound commercial vehicle, resulting in another collision.

Authorities say both Combs and Noble sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Breathitt County Coroner’s Office.

Both were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsies. Toxicology results are pending.

Investigators say they determined Noble was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Combs was not.

The crash remains under investigation.
