NEW DETAILS: 2 killed in Falls of Rough boat crash identified
GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. – Two people are dead after a boat crash in Falls of Rough.
According to a report by K105 FM, a bass boat, occupied by two men, crashed into a pontoon boat occupied by several people on Rough River Lake in the Cave Creek area of the park on Sunday morning at 12:30 am.
K105 says a source close to the investigation says the pontoon boat did not have lights on at the time of the crash.
K105 later reported on Monday that David N. Stomberger, 46, of Crestwood, and Eric P. Derloshon, 51, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, were identified as those killed in the crash.
Stomberger was the driver of the pontoon boat and was pronounced dead at the scene by Grayson County deputy coroner James Embry. Divers discovered Derloshon’s body in Rough River Lake Sunday afternoon.
A female occupant was airlifted to from the Falls of Rough Airport to Owensboro Health Twins Lake Medical Center. A second female was transported by EMS.
A third female later requested EMS following the crash.
The two men in the bass boat were uninjured.
The investigation led by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is still ongoing.
