UPDATE: Woman dies from injuries after collision in Logan County
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – One person has died following a two-vehicle collision last week in Logan County.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says it learned on Sunday that Mary Buchanon of Lewisburg has died due to her injuries sustained in a crash on March 17.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded around 10:06 a.m. on March 17 to the 2500 block of Highland Lick Road for a two-vehicle collision with injuries.
Deputies say they received a report that two vehicles had collided head on in the middle of the road.
Upon arrival, deputies say they saw that both drivers could not exit their vehicles due to injuries.
Russellville Rural Fire Department and Logan County EMS arrived on scene and provided patient care.
Through investigation, deputies say they learned the Honda, driven by Buchanon was traveling westbound on Highland Lick Road when she crossed over her lane and struck the Chevrolet driven by Chase Mayes of Lewisburg.
Mayes’ vehicle then flipped in the eastbound lane, authorities say.
Buchanon and Mayes were transported from the scene for their injuries.
The LCSO was additionally assisted by the Russellville Police Department and Russellville Rural Fire Department.
