2 injured in 2 separate shootings in Owensboro, police say

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Two people are injured following what police say were two separate shooting incidents Friday evening.

According to a release by the Owensboro Police Department, shortly after 7 p.m. that night, officers responded to a reported shooting victim in the 600 block of Sycamore Street.

Police say a male victim had life-threatening injuries and was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., officers say they responded to a second reported shooting in the 2300 block of West Ninth Street. In that area, officers say they located a victim with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say that victim is receiving medical treatment at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Officers say they have processed both crime scenes. The investigation remains ongoing.
