2 from Bowling Green, 1 from Russellville, killed in I-65 crash

WHITE HOUSE, Tenn.- Authorities say two people from Bowling Green and one person from Russellville were killed Friday night in a crash along I-65 near the Tennessee-Kentucky state line.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Michael Posey, 58, of Russellville, Shirley Posey, 53, of Bowling Green and Robin Cofer, 53, of Bowling Green, died at the scene.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at mile marker 119 in Robertson County, Tenn.

Investigators said the three victims were traveling together in the southbound lane when their vehicle, a Nissan Versa, was struck from behind by a semi-truck.

The impact caused the vehicle to cross the median and into the northbound lanes of I-65. The vehicle was then hit by another semi-truck.
