2 dead following 3-vehicle crash in Muhlenberg County

MUHLENBERG COUNTY – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal Muhlenberg County crash.

KSP Post 2 Public Affairs Officer Trooper Brayden Thomas says first responders were called to a crash in the area of U.S. 431 near the 15-mile marker late Friday morning.

The initial investigation shows that a car driven by Billy Wilson, 78, of Dunmor, was driving northbound on U.S. 431.

A semi-truck, operated by Robert Hosmer, 36, of South Bend, Indiana, was driving southbound.

A third car, driven by Morrine Cox, 68, of Greenville, failed to stop at an intersection of U.S. 431 and Cleaton Road.

Cox’s car entered the path of both vehicles, resulting in a three-vehicle crash.

Cox and her passenger, Virginia Grimes, 64, of Mansfield, Texas, were killed.

Hosmer and Wilson received medical treatment for injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
