RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Two people have reportedly died following a house fire in Russellville Tuesday night.

The Russellville City Fire Department says at around 8:34 p.m. Tuesday, Russellville City units were dispatched to a reported fire on the back porch, with possible victims inside the residence off of the 800 block of West Ninth Street.

Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved structure fire.

Arriving units faced heavy fire conditions that made rescue efforts impossible, according to the department.

Two victims were later recovered from the home.

The Logan County Coroner’s Office says the victims are 87-year-old Helen Daniels and her 57-year-old daughter, Vickie Blackwell.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Russellville City Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Russellville Rural Fire Department, Auburn Fire Department, Russellville Police Department, Logan County EMS, Logan County EOC and Logan County Chaplains.
