2 charged with kidnapping in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department has arrested two people on kidnapping charges after an incident on Monday.

According to a uniform citation, police responded around 4:43 p.m. for a subject with a weapon.

During this time, police say they learned a victim had allegedly been held at gunpoint in the back of a vehicle while it traveled to numerous locations in Bowling Green.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 28-year-old Michael White, Jr., while the victim identified the passenger as 33-year-old Ashley Glass.

Police say the victim stated an argument ensued over $4,000 the victim owed, and Glass struck her with a handgun. She also stated White and Glass each pointed a gun at her, stating she was not leaving. The doors were also locked, according to police.

The victim further stated she was able to climb out of a window at a residence at the 2700 block of Apache Drive, notifying officers where she was located.

Upon arriving at the residence, police say White exited and was detained. Police say Glass refused to exit the residence for 30 minutes before she emerged and was taken into custody.

Police additionally conducted a search inside, which led to the discovery of two handguns in a bin.

White faces charges of kidnapping of an adult, first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Glass faces charges of kidnapping of an adult, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (cocaine).

Both were transported to the Warren County Detention Center.
