2 charged with burglary in Edmonson County

CHALYBEATE, Ky. – Two people are facing charges in a reported burglary in Chalybeate.

According to a uniform citation, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office responded Monday to a report that a man, woman and juvenile were at a home on Otter Gap Road and were not supposed to be there.

Deputies say they made contact with 30-year-old Madison Deckard of Smiths Grove and 54-year-old Chad Whitson of Bowling Green.

Authorities say the caller stated both individuals had removed items from the home.

During an investigation, authorities say they found items in the yard that were dry despite it raining all day.

Deckard and Whitson were arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail.

Both are charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree trespassing.
