2 charged with animal cruelty after more than 200 dogs removed from dangerous conditions in Metcalfe

EDMONTON, Ky. – Two Metcalfe County residents are charged with animal cruelty following an investigation.

According to a Kentucky State Police Post 15 press release, 34-year-old Michael W. York and 36-year-old Natasha N. York kept more than 200 dogs on their property.

KSP says many of the dogs did not receive required rabies vaccinations and were “suffering from dehydration, internal parasites, malnutrition, and other health conditions. Officials say one of the dogs had a broken leg.

The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the non-profit organization Guardians of Rescue that specializes in protecting the well-being of animals, according to the release.

Michael York and Natasha York are charged with second-degree cruelty to animals and dogs to be vaccinated against rabies.

The investigation is ongoing.
