2 charged in murder investigation involving vehicle fire in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder.

According to a release, WCSO responded to the 3300 block of Threlkel Ferry Road early Monday morning to a possible injury collision involving a vehicle on fire.

WCSO says that when deputies and the Richardsville Fire Department arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed.

Sheriff Brett Hightower says one victim was inside the vehicle.

The victim was pronounced dead by the Warren County Coroner’s Office at the scene.

According to the release, the investigation determined “noticeable signs” of foul play.

WCSO Investigators, command staff, and Crime Scene Team responded to the scene.

The release states WCSO received additional leads during the investigation, resulting in two suspects.

WCSO arrested Shelly Boyd, 44, of Bowling Green, and Salko Husejnovic, 31, of Bowling Green, according to the release.

Husejnovic is charged with murder-domestic violence, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of corpse.

Boyd is charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Both are lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
