2-1-1 hotline recognized by Bowling Green and Warren County leaders

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- With Tuesday being February 11, or 2/11, elected officials in the city of Bowling Green and Warren County recognized the United Way’s 2-1-1 program.

With the signing of a proclamation Tuesday afternoon at Bowling Green City Hall, Mayor Bruce Wilkerson, Commissioner Sue Parrigin and Warren County Magistrate Doug Gorman, declared February 11 as 2-1-1 day.

2-1-1 is a free, confidential referral and information helpline that connects people to essential health and human services they need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

2-1-1 provides callers with information on various topics, including food, housing, clothing and employment, just to name a few.

Bowling Green’s 2-1-1 call center opened in 2016. Local representatives assist thousands of callers every year.
