18-year-old identified in fatal Skaggs Creek wreck

GLASGOW, Ky. – An 18-year-old has died following a weekend wreck when a vehicle fell into water near Skaggs Creek bridge.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office says it responded with emergency agencies around 8 p.m. Sunday to the bridge on Matthews Mill Road for a vehicle that had fallen into the water.

Deputies say a passenger made it out after the car fell.

However, deputies say the passenger says the driver of the 2013 Honda passenger car, Kyle Ollig, 18, of Glasgow, lost control before leaving the road.

The car left an embankment before falling into the creek, according to deputies.

Ollig was not able to get out and was pronounced dead at the scene.
