1,500 trout stocked at Three Springs Lake
Anglers, grab your fishing polls!
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Anglers, get your fishing gear ready because the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife has kicked off the fishing season with plenty of trout.
The department has started fish stocking Three Springs Lake and 1,500 trout.
Fishing in Neighborhood Programs (FINs) lakes and streams will slowly gain thousands more trout and catfish, providing ample opportunities for local anglers to cast their lines and reel in a catch.
For those new to the sport, now is the perfect time to get hooked on fishing. The department’s website offers tips and advice for beginners and provides answers to all your trout stocking questions.
Urban Fisharies Biologist, KDFAW Dane Balsman said, “These are great opportunities. They’re close to where a lot of people live, really easy access and just family friendly places to go and learn to fish and for people to catch trout when other fish may not be biting as well.”
Don’t forget, all anglers ages 16 and up must renew their annual fishing license beginning March 1st. Visit the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife’s website to get your annual or one-day fishing license.
