128 students competed in Warren County Great Shake Competition

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Students from schools in Warren County showcased their best soft skills in the 2019 Warren County Great Shake, hoping to reach the national competition.

During the Warren County Great Shake, 128 students from 14 different schools participated in a variety of soft skill challenges.

Based on the Amazing Shake created by Ron Clark, the challenges center on communication, team building, critical thinking, professional skills and the ability to speak on command and think on your feet.

About 50 business and community leaders attended to judge and score fifth through seventh-grade students on their performance.

One of the elementary teachers helping to organize the competition, Hannah Blankenship, feels the competition helps eliminate the lack of soft skills in the classrooms early on.

Students competed in five rounds in the competition held at the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative.

The winner will then advance to compete in the Amazing Shake nationals next spring in Atlanta.
