10 years of the Kentucky State Police Angel Initiative

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Over the past decade, the Kentucky State  Police connected 281 individuals with treatment resources.

Back in 2016, KSP started the Angel Initiative to become more proactive about giving people who are battling addiction a way out.

They recognized that finding resources isn’t always easily accessible, but they want to give people a new perspective of the police.

Trooper Katan Parker, public information officer for KSP Post 3, says, “Well, whenever people think about recovering from addiction, they don’t think about the police. They think about getting away from the police. Well, state police want the community to know that, ‘hey, we’re here not just to arrest you but to help them as well.”

The Angel Initiative plans to continue, and you can find more information by visiting any KSP post or by visiting their website.
