1 injured in Barren County car crash

BARREN COUNTY – The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a collision.

According to a release, BCSO responded to an injury accident on Scottsville Road near the intersection of Katybeth Lane on Thursday.

The initial investigation shows that a truck, driven by Donnie Carr, was traveling northbound on Scottsville Road when the truck experienced a suspected mechanical failure.

Carr lost control of the truck, crossed the center line, and collided with an SUV driven by Jamie Price that was traveling southbound.

Carr’s truck overturned and collided with a guardrail, according to the release.

Price was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital for injury treatment. The extent of Price’s injuries is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.

The roadway was closed for several hours.
