1 transported to hospital after structure fire at 12th and Park

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- At about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, the Bowling Green Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 12th Avenue and Park Street.

Rob Gilliam, BGFD Deputy Chief, says when they arrived there was heavy smoke and fire, as well as one occupant inside. The fire department removed the individual and he has been transported to the hospital. Gilliam says his condition is unknown at this time.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point. Investigators are on the scene to determine the cause once it is safe to enter the building. Firefighters are still working to put out the fire and they ask people to please avoid the area at this time.
