UPDATE: State police release name of man killed in Barren County crash

GLASGOW, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal Barren County crash.

KSP Post 3 Public Affairs Officer Katan Parker says the agency responded to a collision in Barren County at just after 3 pm on Edmonton Road at Veterans Outer Loop on Monday.

Parker says an initial investigation shows a vehicle operated by James Deichmueller, 82, from Selma, North Carolina, was driving southbound on Veterans Outer Loop when it collided with a vehicle driven by Charles Davis, 51, of Glasgow.

KSP says Deichmueller did not yield to a traffic control device and struck Davis.

Deichmueller was taken to TJ Samson Community Hospital for life-threatening injuries. He later died.

The investigation is ongoing.
