1 dead following two-vehicle crash in Mercer County

HARRODSBURG, Ky. – One person is dead following a crash Friday in Mercer County.
The Kentucky State Police says it received a call just before 1 p.m. Friday regarding a two-vehicle collision in the intersection of North College Street and Tapp Road.
Troopers say they learned a Nissan driven by 71-year-old Sharon Britton of Cornishville was traveling north on North College Street and failed to yield to a traffic control device.
Authorities say Britton’s vehicle entered the intersection and collided with a Lincoln traveling east on Tapp Road, driven by 79-year-old Jennings Marshall of Harrodsburg.
As a result, troopers say Britton was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, where she died due to her injuries. She was pronounced dead by the Boyle County coroner.
Marshall was also transported to Ephraim Mcdowell Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
This is an ongoing collision investigation. KSP was assisted on the scene by the Harrodsburg Police Department, AmeriPro EMS, Harrodsburg Fire Department and the Boyle County Coroner’s Office.
