1 dead following crash in Simpson County

FRANKLIN, Ky. – One person has died following a reported crash in Simpson County on Friday.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers with Post 3 responded to a single-vehicle crash near 1400 Cedar Bluff Road in Simpson County.

Troopers say a preliminary investigation shows a 1998 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Clarence Hoover, 32, of Scottsville was traveling on Cedar Bluff Road, when the vehicle dropped off the left side of the road and rolled onto the driver’s side.

Hoover was partially ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead by the Simpson County Coroner’s Office.

KSP was assisted on scene by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson County Fire and the Simpson County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation remains ongoing.
