1 dead after storms, second wave of severe weather expected, governor says

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear has provided an update as severe weather continues in Kentucky, with another round of storm expected Sunday evening.

Beshear says one person has died, and five counties have declared an emergency.

The identity and location of the victim has not yet been confirmed.

Over 213,000 homes across the state are without power, the governor says.

Multiple roads are blocked by trees, powerlines are down and roads are flooded. Avoid downed lines and do not attempt to drive across flooded roads.
