1 dead, 1 charged in Hopkinsville crash involving tractor-trailer

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – One person is dead following a crash in Christian County.
According to a WKDZ report, Kentucky State Police responded to an accident involving a tractor-trailer on Fort Campbell Boulevard Saturday evening.
KSP says a tractor-trailer operated by 36-year-old Gerasimos Livieratos of Chicago, Illinois, was traveling southbound when it attempted a U-turn to travel northbound.
The tractor-trailer collided with a car driven by 33-year-old Bernice Franklin, traveling northbound.
Franklin was trapped inside his vehicle under the tractor-trailer, according to the report.
First responders extracted Franklin from his vehicle. He was transported to Jennie Stuart Health Hospital, where he later died.
Livieratos was arrested and charged with failure to yield or improper signal, improper turning, DUI, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, and vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs following an investigation.
