1 charged with DUI, passenger allegedly throws Fireball into woods
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two people are facing charges after a wreck in Bowling Green on Monday.
According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded around 8:33 p.m. to the 7900 block of Morgantown Road for an injury accident.
Deputies say the caller stated the vehicle was sideways in the road with a male and female subject.
Upon arrival, deputies say the female, identified as Ashley Cox, 41, of Bowling Green, was sitting on the guardrail with visible injuries. Authorities say she stated she had “a few drinks but stopped drinking a couple hours earlier.”
During a preliminary breath test, deputies say she measured at .65.
Deputies also say the male passenger, identified as Austin Kuprion, 30, of Morgantown, threw multiple empty Fireball shots from the vehicle into the woods.
Authorities say the front of the guardrail was heavily damaged. In addition, deputies say the owner of the vehicle later arrived on scene.
Deputies say Kuprion was not injured but was placed in a position that could have injured him.
Cox was transported to the TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital for medical clearance. Both Cox and Kuprion were arrested and transported to the Warren County Detention Center.
Cox is charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others between $1,000 and $10,000, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree wanton endangerment.
Kuprion is charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense, criminal littering and second-degree disorderly conduct.
