Two men rescued after fishing trip turns dangerous

Two men had to be saved from a river, Saturday night, after their harmless fishing trip Turned into a dangerous situation for them.

The men were fishing on the Barren River underneath the College Street Bridge,  until they got stuck on a rock. Seven vehicles and 21 personnel were dispatched to help the two men. There were also two rafts used to perform a rope rescue. 

After an hour long rescue attempt, both men were brought to safety unharmed. Daniel and the other man had been on the river for 8 hours and luckily had life jackets.

The Bowling Green Fire Department, Emergency Management, BGPD and EMS all helped in the rescue.
