Two inmates escape from Rutherford County Jail
Police are now searching for two men, who escaped from Rutherford County Jail earlier this morning.
Multiple news outlets report that Dewayne Halfacre and Jonathan Baxter overpowered a guard, just after 12:30 this morning. Both men reportedly assaulted the officer, and then climbed over the razor wire, escaping the facility.
According to a release, both the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and Murfreesboro Police are searching the area near New Salem highway.
Both men were last seen wearing white T-shirts and orange pants. Halfacre was once on the TBI’s most wanted list, after he and an accomplice were charged in an armed robbery. He was eventually arrested following a 5 day manhunt.
Police are warning the public to call 911 immediately, if they are spotted and do not approach them.
