Sherry Murphy eager to begin as new director of the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau
Yesterday the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau finally announced the woman who would be taking over the vacant role left by long-time executive director Vickie Fitch, who is set to retire on December first.
Sherry Murphy is set to become the new executive director, something she couldn’t be more excited about. Murphy also says she’s hoping to help build on the many tourist attractions that Bowling Green already has, but she wants to carry on the legacy that was built by her predecessor.
Murphy is a Logan County native and WKU graduate, and she feels like that familiarity with the area and the people in this community will help her effortlessly transition into her new role, but also be successful in it as well.
When the opportunity arose for Murphy to move back to Bowling Green, she didn’t hesitate to jump at the opportunity to come back to a place she considers home.
Murphy will begin her new role as executive director on November 12th.
