Radar’s Bio

RADAR HAS BEEN VOTED BEST LOCAL TV PERSONALITY IN BOWLING GREEN FOR 7 YEARS IN A ROW!  THANK YOU FANS!

Radar the Weather Dog made his first on-air appearance in October 2005 and became an instant hit. Radar, a border collie adopted from the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society, was around 1 year old (10 months, we think) when he joined WNKY's Weather Team.

Appearing on WNKY weather segments, Radar's friendly disposition and love of the camera makes him the perfect on-air mascot.

Although Radar lives at WNKY, he is never alone. Our overnight crew keeps watch over Radar during the night (although he mostly just sleeps in his bed nearby). Morning crews get here around 5 a.m. for Radar's first morning walk and meal, and during the day he can usually be found in someone's office playing, chewing or relaxing.

While Radar enjoys his weekdays and nights at WNKY, he does love weekend getaways. Either one of his station "parents" takes care of him at their home for Saturday and Sunday or he enjoys a big condo at Alpha Pet Boarding (this is only a slight exaggeration — Alpha is a great place).

Radar is treated to trips to pet parks, pet stores and much more while away from the station.
