Over a thousand attend vigil to honor victims of limo crash
A vigil was held Monday night for the 20 victims who lost their lives in the horrific limo crash in upstate New York over the weekend.
Thousands turned out in Amsterdam, New York to remember the victims and to pay respects to their families and friends. This community is still in shock after a stretch limousine carrying 18 people, including the driver, crashed into a parked SUV on Saturday in Schoharie.
The accident killed everyone onboard the vehicle and two pedestrians about 40 miles west of the state capital of Albany. The 17 passengers were celebrating a birthday party and most of them were from the tight-knit town of Amsterdam.
Tonight’s vigil is just one of several events that are planned to honor the lives of all 20 victims.
Another vigil is scheduled for Wednesday in Schoharie.
