Mammoth Cave Jellystone Park reveals big expansion

Today was perfect because of the weather.

It was also perfect because Cave City is about to get a spark in its economy.

That’s after its local attraction announced a lucrative expansion.

One that brings both excitement and tourism to the area.

The Co-owner and Operator of Mammoth Cave Jellystone Park shared celebratory news to the community.

Business leaders and families made their way to the park in Cave City earlier this morning.

They celebrated two incredible milestones at the grand opening of Karst Beach water play park.

Karst Beach is a 2.3-acre pond and splash beach with a floating water sports park.

This is only part one of a 10.7 million dollar expansion effort.

This effort will generate nearly 3.5 million dollars in sales and income taxes for the Commonwealth of Kentucky during the next 10 years.

Part two is Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog franchise.

Alongside Karst Beach, it will boost tourism in Cave City and central Kentucky areas for years to come.

The expansion also includes construction of 5 additional playgrounds, bath-houses, and day-use pet kennels.

There’s also a new retail area, Huckleberry Knob which offers gifts, toys and more.

Other food options now include Hunt Brothers Pizza and Swirlstation ice cream.
