Lil’ Angels Attic (LAA) is a ministry of Broadway United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We are a group of volunteers who come together bi-annually to host a high-quality children’s consignment sale. LAA is unique in that we are the area’s only not-for-profit sale, meaning 100% of our profits are donated to local charities whose missions support women and children. Since 2003 LAA has donated over $750,000 in cash and merchandise to local charities.
At LAA, you can get just about anything you could need for your kids from birth to teen, and even items to get you ready for your new little bundle of joy. With over 30,000 items at each sale, we offer everything you may need from maternity to teens including:
+blankets and layette items
+clothing in a range of brands and styles from sizes 0-20 for boys and girls
+furniture for your older child’s room
+toys galore for all ages and interests
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease!
When you participate in Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission, and your participation in the event helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in the Bowling Green and surrounding counties’ communities. The Alzheimer’s Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help participants reach their fundraising goal. While there is no fee to register, we encourage participants to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church is hosting it’s 5th Annual Jesus Fed the 5k Run on Saturday, September 21st. The run will support Clarksville’s Manna Cafe Ministries (a non-profit organization that provides food and other necessities to those in need).
There will be a top finisher prize to the winner and all race participants will be eligible for many wonderful door prizes. Ages 10+ are able to participate with those 10-17 needing an adult partner to be with them at all times.
Cost $35 for ages 18+, $25 for ages 10-17
Registration Fees will include one t-shirt, racing bib and goody bag. Additional race t-shirts will be available for $12 each.

The Baker Arboretum invites all to hear the 2019 Distinguished Lecturer, Mac Stone, at the Knicely Conference Center on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 7pm. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Mac Stone is an organic family farmer and works with non-profit agriculture and food organizations. Mac was the Executive Director of Marketing for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, administering the Kentucky Proud Program, established USDA-NOP organic certification accreditation, and many other programs.
He will speak about biological principles of regenerative agriculture, beneficial insects, and soil-food interactions.

CASA of South Central Kentucky will be holding its 6th Annual Superhero 5K, Kids 1 Mile Fun Run, and 1 Mile Family Walk/Run presented by Cheetah Clean Auto Wash on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Ephram White Park, 885 Mt. Olivet Road, in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Please visit: www.CASAofSCK.org/Superhero19 to complete your registration online. Event registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Amy Milliken Shelter at Ephram White Park. The 5K Run will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. The 5k Run will be a timed race and is part of the Bowling Green Running Club’s Grand Prix Points Series. At 9:30 a.m., the 1 Mile Family Walk will begin. At 10:00 a.m., the 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run will kickoff. An awards ceremony will then be held following all events at approximately 10:30am. The race has a unique Superhero Search element where the 5K participants bring action figures that have been dropped on the race course back to the finish line for prizes like gift cards. There will also be a Superhero Costume Contest while we await tally of race winners. Participants are encouraged to team up with coworkers and friends and dress up as their favorite Superhero to show their spirit in the fight against child abuse!
All proceeds from the CASA Superhero 5K, 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run, and 1 Mile Family Walk will benefit CASA of South Central Kentucky serving Barren, Hart, Metcalfe, and Warren counties. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of South Central KY, Inc. is a non-profit agency dedicated to eliminating trauma to children. CASA works to prevent child victims of abuse, neglect and dependency from being further abused by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. The CASA concept is based on the commitment that every child has the right to a safe, permanent home, as soon as possible.
