Mt. Hermon Baptist Church is hosting it’s 5th Annual Jesus Fed the 5k Run on Saturday, September 21st. The run will support Clarksville’s Manna Cafe Ministries (a non-profit organization that provides food and other necessities to those in need).
There will be a top finisher prize to the winner and all race participants will be eligible for many wonderful door prizes. Ages 10+ are able to participate with those 10-17 needing an adult partner to be with them at all times.
Cost $35 for ages 18+, $25 for ages 10-17
Registration Fees will include one t-shirt, racing bib and goody bag. Additional race t-shirts will be available for $12 each.

This class is geared to accommodate babies ages 6 weeks to crawling. The class includes stretching, strengthening and balancing poses suitable for the new moms’ and babies’ conditions! You are free to pick up your baby and feed her, rock her, change her diaper or walk her around the room if she cries. Don’t worry you can do anything you need to tend to your babies.

Entertain Glasgow, a local volunteer group, and T.J. Regional Health are excited to announce the first ever hot air balloon festival to take place in Glasgow. The Groove & Glow Fest will be held on Saturday, September 21 at the Glasgow Municipal Airport – Moore Field.
The family event will kick off at 4 p.m. beginning with numerous kids’ activities, food vendors, and an array of hot air balloons. There will be balloons to admire, as well as tethered rides for attendees, and a balloon glow at dusk. The evening will end with live music by a headlining band that will be announced in August.
The title sponsor for the event is T.J. Regional Health, which celebrates its 90th birthday in September.
Admission to the event is free, but donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted. All items donated will be used to replenish the “To The Brim” food bank as they prepare for the upcoming holiday season.

Children will have access to the playground area and carousel before the movie begins. The outfield will be available for playing Frisbee and tossing a football around before the movie. The concession stands will be open for families to purchase food. People will have their choice of seating; they may bring a blanket to sit on in the outfield (no chairs, please) or sit in the box seats around the ballpark.

Blockbusters at the Ballpark is Community Education’s major fundraiser to support programs that benefit our community. Such programs include before- and after-school programs that provide child care to about 1,000 local children of working parents; Teen Angel, which provides Christmas assistance to needy teenagers in school; enrichment opportunities for adults; summer activities for children, and much, much more. Absolutely 100 percent of the money raised will stay in Warren County and will be used for local programs.

The Baker Arboretum invites all to hear the 2019 Distinguished Lecturer, Mac Stone, at the Knicely Conference Center on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 7pm. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Mac Stone is an organic family farmer and works with non-profit agriculture and food organizations. Mac was the Executive Director of Marketing for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, administering the Kentucky Proud Program, established USDA-NOP organic certification accreditation, and many other programs.
He will speak about biological principles of regenerative agriculture, beneficial insects, and soil-food interactions.

CASA of South Central Kentucky will be holding its 6th Annual Superhero 5K, Kids 1 Mile Fun Run, and 1 Mile Family Walk/Run presented by Cheetah Clean Auto Wash on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Ephram White Park, 885 Mt. Olivet Road, in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The 5K Run will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. The 5k Run will be a timed race and is part of the Bowling Green Running Club’s Grand Prix Points Series. At 9:30 a.m., the 1 Mile Family Walk will begin. At 10:00 a.m., the 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run will kickoff. An awards ceremony will then be held following all events at approximately 10:30am. The race has a unique Superhero Search element where the 5K participants bring action figures that have been dropped on the race course back to the finish line for prizes like gift cards. There will also be a Superhero Costume Contest while we await tally of race winners. Participants are encouraged to team up with coworkers and friends and dress up as their favorite Superhero to show their spirit in the fight against child abuse!
All proceeds from the CASA Superhero 5K, 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run, and 1 Mile Family Walk will benefit CASA of South Central Kentucky serving Barren, Hart, Metcalfe, and Warren counties. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of South Central KY, Inc. is a non-profit agency dedicated to eliminating trauma to children. CASA works to prevent child victims of abuse, neglect and dependency from being further abused by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. The CASA concept is based on the commitment that every child has the right to a safe, permanent home, as soon as possible.
