Shots fired during Denver protest of Minneapolis man’s death
DENVER (AP) — Protesters were swarming downtown Denver in a demonstration against the death of a black man in Minneapolis police custody. Demonstrators have blocked traffic and smashed vehicles. Earlier in Thursday’s demonstration, people ran from gunshots fired outside the Colorado State Capitol. Nobody was reported injured by the shots. The protest briefly spilled over onto Interstate 25, blocking all lanes of traffic until police used tear gas to drive them off the roadway. Hundreds gathered to call for justice for George Floyd, who died after an officer knelt on his neck for almost eight minutes Monday in Minneapolis.
