Kentucky reports 29 more coronavirus-related deaths

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky has reported 1,786 new COVID-19 cases and 29 more virus-related deaths. Gov. Andy Beshear says the statewide rate of residents testing positive for the coronavirus dropped again on Tuesday. Beshear reported the statewide positivity rate was 7.17%, down from 7.36% the prior day. The 29 latest deaths to be reported raised Kentucky’s death toll from the virus to at least 9,425 since the pandemic began. Beshear said Monday that deaths remain far too high, even as virus cases, hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care units have dropped. The state on Tuesday reported 1,202 virus patients hospitalized in Kentucky.
