Greek tourism minister says all foreign visitors welcome
ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece’s tourism minister says the country is ready to welcome tourists from all over the world this summer but will be adhering to the advice of health experts to ensure it remains a safe destination in terms of the risk of coronavirus exposure. Greece has managed to hold its outbreak to a comparatively low level after imposing a lockdown early. Authorities are now trying to balance promoting the tourism-reliant country as a safe destination while also ensuring that foreign visitors don’t trigger a new outbreak. Greece last week announced that visitors from 29 countries wouldn’t be subject to quarantine. The tourism minister says it was a “misunderstanding” that entire countries were being blocked.
