Help bring students to Mammoth Cave with new match campaign fundraiser

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – Are you game to help students explore one of SoKY’s national treasures?

Well, now’s your chance! Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park is starting a new fundraising match campaign to make it easier for school systems to afford field trips to the park, and they need your help.

Here’s how it works: any donations you send will be matched by the organization up to $13,000. The money will go directly to the park’s environmental education department, helping to bring more children to Mammoth Cave for field trips during both the school year and summer break.

These field trips include cave tours and activities with the rangers, and benefit schools all over Kentucky and other states.

Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park Executive Director Rachelle Wright said, “Right now, it costs $6 to bring a student to the park for the day. And it usually always includes a cave tour inside and activities that are on target for their objectives in their grades. If somebody just donates $3, that sends one student to the park because we’re going to match it.”
