Five injured after car crashes into a church
Five people were injured when a car crashed into a Kentucky church during their Sunday service.
The crash happened at Silas Baptist Church in Paris, Kentucky shortly before 6:00 pm.
Authorities say a man was driving about 60 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone.
The driver reportedly overcorrected and traveled 400 feet off the road and fully into the church.
Authorities say three church members were hurt and two of them were taken to the hospital.
Reportedly two of the five people inside the vehicle were also taken to the hospital.
Pastor Curtis Coots says the church building was built in 1850 and has never closed its doors since opening.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors.
