Fire displaces ten in Newport

Three dogs were killed, a mother and child were injured, and 10 people were displaced after a blaze broke out in Newport on Tuesday.

It happened at a house near the corner of Linsey and Brighton Streets.

Ten people were inside at the time: four adults and six children.

A mother and a child were reportedly rushed to the hospital where they are being treated for minor injuries.

Three dogs died after being trapped in a pen inside the home.

Firefighters believe the house is a total loss.
