Convicted felon accused of possessing handguns and firing shots in cornfield
A convicted felon is accused of possessing two handguns illegally and firing shots from inside his vehicle into a cornfield.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a complaint of a reckless driver Thursday morning on Nashville Road, waving a handgun out of the driver’s side window and nearly running another driver off the roadway.
A traffic stop was conducted on James Parker, 58, of Adairville, who deputies say admitted to waving his handgun outside of the vehicle, as well as firing approximately six rounds into a cornfield.
Deputies say six spent shell casings were located inside the vehicle alongside two handguns.
Parker is facing a slew of charges including, wanton endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
