CITY OF BOWLING GREEN MOBILE APP NOW AVAILABLE
Instant access to City services is now available through the new Bowling Green mobile application. Starting today, residents can download the app by searching “bowling green” on their Apple or Android device. The City of Bowling Green mobile app promotes on-the-go access to City services, maps, alerts, special event information, social media and more.
This app was created by AT&T, and Bowling Green is the first city in the Country to deploy this solution. With 25 to 35 percent of the City's website views coming from mobile devices, this is yet another part of the City's continued efforts to engage residents and customers where they live and work through a variety of social media outlets.
“Technology has become a way of life for our residents, and now citizens can engage with the City on their own terms at their own time,” said Mayor Wilkerson. “With the new app, residents can report issues or obtain information easily.”
The Bowling Green app will be a direct interface between residents and City staff and will increase efficiency; creating better, faster responses to resident concerns or various problems. In addition to the features above, app users will be able to report a problem by sending their GPS location as well as taking a photo of the area of concern and sending it straight to City staff.
“We're embracing user-friendly technology to promote 24-7 access to City services with the push of a button from the palm of your hand,” said Kim Lancaster, Public Information Officer. “I encourage residents to download the app, send us their questions and suggestions, and help to be our eyes and ears in the City.”
Suggestions and comments are welcome. We are constantly working to make the City of Bowling Green and our app better. Contact us on Facebook @ www.facebook.comicitybgky or Twitter @ www.twitter.com/CityofBGKY.
