Bristow Elementary celebrates its Amazing Shake finalists and champion
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bristow Elementary School has a lot to celebrate.
Monday it was the students and their inaugural efforts in The Amazing Shake Competition.
In particular, one of the fifth graders helped the school achieve a milestone for the first time.
School officials began Monday’s awards ceremony by recognizing their 10 finalists.
Those finalists will compete at the district level next.
The goal is the National Competition in Atlanta at the Ron Clark Academy.
During the awards ceremony, Bristow crowned its first-ever Amazing Shake Champion, Mackenzie Torres, a fifth-grade student at the school.
Torres and the other competitors had to showcase their “soft skills” that will help them when they enter adulthood.
Those skills include eye contact, strong handshakes and carrying on a conversation.
One competition was in a dinner setting where judges scored them on their treatment of servers.
Torres was glowing with excitement for becoming the school’s inaugural champion. She wants to inspire her peers as well.
Along with Bristow, Jody Richards and Natcher Elementary schools in Warren County regularly compete.
