Bowling Green Housing Authority long time board member is out

A long time board member with the Housing Authority of Bowling Green is out.

At Tuesday’s City Commission meeting, commissioners voted 3-2 to replace Hilda Sarver, whose seen in this photo in the front row wearing blue. She’s been on the board for over a decade. Sarver told us on the phone this morning that she had hoped to be reappointed, but she realizes now that her time is up and had no hard feelings.

Bowling Green Mayor Bruce Wilkerson, who is also on the Housing Authority board, not only voted in favor of replacing Sarver, but sponsored the agenda item. During the meeting, the Mayor rejected the notion that the move was in some way, retaliation.

Sarver is being replaced by Kathleen Brown. The last day of Sarver’s term is June 30th.
