Bowling Green firefighters participate in annual ‘Fill the Boot’
It’s finally that time of the year, where instead of strapping on their boots, the Bowling Green Fire Department has asked the public to help fill the boot.
This weekend, firefighters braved the heat, standing storefront at Walmart on Campbell Lane and Morgantown Road asking for donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Continuing a nationwide, 60 year tradition, the funds go directly to finding treatments and cures for Muscular Dystrophy, ALS and related diseases that limit strength and mobility.
Last year, the Bowling Green Fire Department raised over $24,000 for the cause.
This years total will be released later this week.
