Bowling Green Fire Department gets plane for training
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department now has a new tool to train with at the Bowling Green Warren County Regional Airport.
Around 15 years ago, a plane was left behind and never reclaimed by the owners.
Now, the airport, after receiving ownership of the aircraft, decided they would trash the unusable plane.
But the BG fire department asked them to keep it for training purposes.
So a pad was poured for storage of the plane at the airport and Wednesday morning, the plane was taken to it’s new home.
Firefighters will practice unbuckling dummies as well as practice removing them from their seats and off the aircraft during training.
This is the first full sized plane the fire department has ever had to use for training.
