Bourbon company facing environmental violations
Sazerac, the company that owns the bourbon warehouse that collapsed on Friday in Bardstown, is facing violations by the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet.
Some of the bourbon in the 9,000 cases that tumbled to the ground leaked into the Withrow Creek and Beech Fork River, resulting in a massive fish kill. The cabinet is accusing Sazerac officials of failing to report the release in a timely manner and polluting waters in Kentucky.
